How is anyone involved in anything when they have young kids? I am involved with a few things mainly Special Olympics and Kindergarten dance. Often when I have to be to one of these events I end up with a sick kid or no baby sitter etc..... Tomorrow is the state Special Olympics bowling and not only could I not find a babysitter but now I have two very sick and gross looking boys. I find myself getting more and more frustrated because I hate disappointing people BUT my kids are and always will be the most important part of my life so I guess as much as enjoy these other activities they will have to sometimes be on the back burner.
So moms out there can you relate? I am sure you can. Share your frustrations with me. Make me feel better about mine.
That really stinks! But how can you be sad while wearing a Sound of Music shirt?
ReplyDeleteI always think if you plan a vacation, sure enough, someone gets sick! You always have to have a plan b, something else you will do fun for yourself if you don't get to do what you're planning on.
Isabelle broke her arm last night so I was feeling sorry for her (and me!). It's hard taking care of kids and dealing with additional health issues. I hear you!
Ya I know the feeling...sorry we couldn't work out something for tomorrow- I luckily found a babysitter, but it wasn't easy. I guess you just have to say this too will pass....
ReplyDeleteMy kids always get sick when I have to go visiting teaching. It's crazy. I guess that's what I get for leaving it until the end of the month!
ReplyDeleteI hear you... pre-baby, I was seriously not wanting to have kids just for that reason... I couldn't go flitting off at my leisure. Just like you, I wouldn't change a thing and I love Alexandra more than anything, but sometimes (most times) I hate how big of a production it is just to leave the house. And I only have one.... I'm back to how inconvenient (and not wanting to have to work of prego-weight) for the reason not to start thinking about baby #2. My m-i-l is my babysitter the two days I go to work, but I tell you, the days that she is unavailable are the worst on the planet! I used to wonder why mothers were so anal about kids washing their hands and staying away from others who are sick... I thought it to be a bit anal-retentive.... UNTIL I had a sick kid. 100 times rather it be me than her. So in summary of this book report of a comment:
ReplyDelete1- I HATE FINDING BABYSITTERS. (especially because I'm not quite ready to leave Alex with a teenaged babysitter -- which is weird cuz I started sitting when I was 9, but to me, that's different so I'm stuck finding another mom that is not busy -- impossible.)
2 - Sick kids. Blech.
I feel your pain.
Sick kids are the worst! I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteI am so right there with you! Kids are the best thing in the world but some days you just feel like you need to runaway! But not for long right?
