5k hooray

Carlene and I ran a 5k in provo this morning. I was very concerned about running it, since earlier this week PJ had hit me in the leg with a baseball bat. Consequently my leg went numb and I was unable to walk on it that day. The next day I could walk fine but I couldn't run. It was still sore this morning so I took some Ibuprofen. How stupid can I be? I forgot that 800 mg of Ibuprofen makes me sick. So I was fighting off the urge to toss my cookies. Fortunately for me once the race had begun I was almost over the sick feeling and my leg held up okay.
So brag time: I took 11th place overall. 3rd overall woman and 1st place woman in the age group of 19-55. The girls who beat me were both in the 12-18 age group. Carlene also did an awesome job she finished with her best time ever and was 6th in the age group and 10th overall woman. Peyton decided to fill our CD player with sour cream and cheddar potato chips and gum. It doesn't work anymore.

fathers day

To celebrate fathers day we went to the lake and had a picnic. Landan and the kids had a lot of fun. I am always a nervous person when my kids are around water so I didn't enjoy quite as much as they did. But it was a good time.

foot loose and diaper free

Summer has begun and we are busy with all the summer time activities. The highlight of the summer is Peyton decided to potty train himself. After the nightmare of a time I had trying to potty train Trey, I was in no hurry to potty train PJ. So He decided he might as well do it himself. He is so opposite of Trey. Peyton is as independent as Trey is dependent. Now if I could get them to rob off on each other a little, it would be great! PJ has a unique sense of style and doesn't think he needs to wear his boy boys In the normal fashion. On top of clothes or backwards are two ways he has sported his undies.
I found him outside this way, yesterday morning. I bet you didn't know they made toddler thongs, did you?

Addie had her last dance performance of the year. It was cute and she did a great job.

We went to see the airplanes take off at the Spanish fork airport. This was soooo very exciting for Trey. We actually got to see two take off.

such pure joy

My mom, Carlene and I along with all of our kids went walking on the Spanish fork trail. The older girls rode their scooters. They had one issue after the next. It took us a very long time to complete the trail and by the end even the best participants were crying... well except for Trey who was singing show tunes. I am glad someone appreciates his surroundings. Even after a very long time.

Peyton and Trey have been enjoying shooting hoops every day.

slam dunking it

what a shooter!!
I wish I could say I was completely enjoying summer. However, with all of the sibling fighting, tantrums and declarations of boredom, I think I am ready for school to start again. (Well not quite)

birthday boy and all that jazz

Trey's special day has come and gone. He is now officially 4 years old. Stop signs and numbers were his requests for the birthday bash. He was not disappointed. Grandma Carla gave him his very own crossing guard outfit and stop/slow sign. He, Addie and Peyton have enjoyed playing crossing guard.

He also got some FedEx trucks. Now that Daddy works there, FedEx trucks are the best!!

We were able to find someone who could make a road sign cake. (Macey's)

And we made some number cupcakes

He invited his cousins between the ages of 3 and 5 over to swim and play. He doesn't need to have any other friends to his party the cousins made 10 kids including Trey.

In the evening the Grandparents came to his kickball game to see his mad skills and then over to the house for treats. He had a great time with all of the grandparents and was spoiled with more cool presents.

After such an exhausting day, he needed to STOP playing and take a 12 hour nap. (I wish it was 12) I went in to check on him and found him fast asleep with stop sign still in hand. I am sure he was dreaming of stopping traffic and helping children cross the road.

He had a great day! We sure love this kid.

giving up the crown

Addie has been looking forward to this day as well as being sad about this day approaching. She has loved telling people she is little miss Santaquin. She has been very proud of that title. However, she also thought crowning the new royalty was about the coolest thing a person can do. She had to do her farewell walk. She did great considering there was no time before hand to practice on the stage.

Addie with Abbie the Jr. miss queen from last year. Here she is crowning the new second attendant. Notice she put the sash upside down. She got better the more people she crowned.
