first day of preschool

the 4 cousins in the same class
The school year has officially started.  Trey is excited to have several of his cousins in the same class.  He did really well this year.  No tears or sadness with going.  He was actually quite excited.  This year the tears came from PJ who wanted to attend school too.  I had to carry him out kicking and screaming!
Trey and Waylon on the way in the doors for a very exciting first day of school
Trey was still happy to see me once school was out.  He apparently had been needing to use the restroom for quite some time but was not about to ask his teacher to go.  I really hope he gets over that shyness.
PJ had a blast at the city center.  They had lots of fun things set up as part of "get healthy week"  He threw a mighty temper tantrum on this slide because someone rudely suggested he wait his turn instead of getting in front of everyone.  The nerve of some people. tee hee!  Also notice the mismatched socks.  PJ has decided he dresses himself and this day he not only wore socks that didn't match but also two different shoes.  He is quite the character.

carnival fun!

Trey and Addie had fun at the carnival.  Trey finally enjoys the carnival rides.  Now we just can't get to each ride fast enough.

second grade sassiness

Addie was up and ready for school this morning before the sun was up.  She woke me up and said "mom I am ready for school.  I did my hair and everything.  Let's go"  I had to inform her she still had a couple of hours until it was time to leave.  She was also super excited that I said I would walk her to her class this morning, since Landan could be home with the boys. She asked me if I would take picture of her in her classroom. She also mentioned many times that she had tingles in her tummy.  We head off to school and the minute we park the car Addie is out the door and running.  I yelled for her to slow down and her response was " Ugh Do you have to walk in with me?" So I remind her that she wanted me to. She says "Fine" We walked into her classroom with only one other student so far.  I told Addie sit at your desk so I can get a picture.  She does the big eye roll and looks at the little girl in the classroom like she is just so embarrassed.  I went home deflated because mom went from being the coolest ever to embarrassing in about 5 minutes.  I knew this day would come. sigh

In other news: Trey threw up on me while I was writing this post. At least it was just me and the kitchen floor and not on the carpet.

Oh how boring another 5k

Addie convinced Trey to play pageant with her.  They had a great time.  I was laughing so hard at Trey that Addie then had to put on the same outfit she put on Trey so I could give her plenty of attention too.
I ran the Wasatch Mental Health Wellness 5k run today.  I didn't have a great run.  I just struggled from the half way point to the finish.  Just one of those days I guess.  I did manage to get second in my age group, 11th overall female and 30th overall.  Oh and the worst part of the race was when a woman in the 45-50 age group thought I was in the same age group as her.  ouch!!

orchard days

Saturday was a big day of celebrating. Carlene and I ran the 5k in the morning. In the womens 5k I finished 2nd overall and 1st in my age group. Carlene finished 9th overall and 1st in her age group.
After the run we rushed to the parade. It was a great parade as always. My kids got enough candy to last a lifetime.
We decided not to go to the rodeo this year but in our backyard we can see the fireworks perfectly. Addie and Trey were so excited to see the fireworks. Unfortunately by the time they started, Trey was too sleepy and said he would rather go to bed.
