just stuff

For the past month I have not been able to indulge in a little sleeping in on Saturday mornings. Darn Miss Payson(which I do the choreography for) requires me to be at the high school at 7:00 a.m. I have been pretty bitter about this. Every Saturday when the alarm goes off I spend a good amount of time cussing those individuals in charge(you know who you are, JUDY) followed by a good 20 minutes of staring at the wall. Then I panic because now I am going to be late. How did I do it when I was in HS and College? I had to be up earlier than that every day.

Today, after Miss Payson, Addie and I got busy in the kitchen making two different kinds of cookies for little Kynley's blessing day. Things were going pretty well until Addie dumped a bottle of water onto the kitchen floor. I told her to go get a rag and mop it up. I guess on the long way to the rag drawer she thought she had to grab a cookie, so with a cookie in one hand and a rag in the other she comes charging into the kitchen and slides on her on spilled water. Her feet came out from under her and she hit her head on the floor pretty darn hard. Am I sympathetic? NO!! because all I can see is that the cookie she had in her hand is now in a zillion pieces on the floor getting soggy from the water. And of course I just mopped the floor this morning. We made rolo cookies and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Both recipes I found from "taste buds are the best buds" see side bar for link. doesn't the caramel inside the cookie look yummy?
Our finished product.

I have been trying to get Peyton's face to heal from all of the scratches Trey has so kindly given him. (Denise H is photographing my kids in a few weeks.) However, you can see from this pic that my efforts are in vain. Trey always has a hand in his face and new marks are still being made daily. Poor Peyton!

I had to just add this picture because it makes me chuckle. DISCLAIMER: for those of you who may be concerned that I am feeding my one-year-old diet coke, no need to call DCFS, the can was empty before Peyton procured it.

How many years???

February 21, 1998 was the day Landan and I decided to get married. I didn't actually get my ring until March 20th but Feb 21 is when we told our parents we were getting hitched. It wasn't one of the best pieces of news for my mom. She didn't even know I was dating Landan. She had actually never even met him. Every time we had been at may parents house my mom was gone. So my dad had actually been introduced to Landan. But my mom had no idea.

Message for my mom on the answering machine: "Hi mom I thought I should let you know Landan and I are going ring shopping. So give me a call when you get this message."

message for me when I got home that night: " call your mother, no matter how late it is." Well, it has been 11 years since then and I think she has forgiven me.

I thought it would be fun to show pictures of us through out the years!

have you ever???

Have you ever counted down the hours until bedtime, because you can't take another moment of attitude and tears. You are sick of dealing with demanding, snotty, unappreciative....
sobbing, hungry, poopy diapers

temper tantrums, hitting, pinching biting..... and finally BEDTIME arrives......

and you miss them, because suddenly you only remember Addie pretending she is Beyonce and saying she is writing in curfage. (cursive)

Trey giggling, saying "Oh Snap" and calling me Stephanie Huff

Peyton giving an adorable grin or a great big slobbery kiss, complete with sound effects of mmmm maaaaaa! And you almost want to get them back out of bed... Almost

Now tell me, have you ever?

I feel like spring has sprung

What a great day! We were able to go out for a walk, a wagon ride, jump on the trampoline and just play in the backyard. Most of our grass is showing!! I know it is a Spring tease because I hear it is supposed to snow tonight. But, Hooray for one pleasant day!

Too precious! Peyton making his best effort to actually jump on the tramp.

Happy Valentines Day!

The Valentines Fairy delivered some prizes to our house this morning. They all received new shirts and scored some other prizes as well. The balloons, pictured above , are always a huge success at my house. sporting their new shirts

Trey and Peyton got a police car to go along with their noisy fire truck. They fought over it all morning.

Addie got a Miley cyrus doll. ( three dollars at Walmart, hooray!)

We made this beautiful cake.

Grandma Huff gave the kids treat bags which were full of fun little toys and candies. my kids had a lot of fun. Landan and I will go out some time next week.

Happy Valentines Day !!!!!

cooking and hanging

Addie and I have started a new tradition of baking together once a week while the boys nap. so far we have made a lemon cake, carrot cake and this week we made chocolate chip cookies. Addie is quite the baker.

Cookies and milk!

Lately, my kids favorite toy is the bunk bed in the boys room. It has turned into quite the playground. It might as well be used for something since Peyton is still in the crib and 75% of the time Trey ends up sleeping on the floor.

Good times!

A bunch of stuff that is funny to me WARNING may contain nudity

Did you know that President Obama is Addie's uncle? I didn't know that either. But Addie insists that he is for sure her uncle. After a few days of trying to convince that she is not the niece of the president of the United States, we have just decided to play along. We now lovingly call him Uncle Obama.
It is so funny to me to see how obsessed she is with him. Pictured above is Addie looking at photos of Obama on the computer.
My dad is in Washington DC right now and Addie told her kindergarten teacher that her grandpa was staying in that big white house with her Uncle Obama.

This picture is proof that once in a great while Peyton and Trey enjoy each other.

I just couldn't resist snapping a picture. Sorry about the nudity, especially since I am a repeat offender.

Trey is obsessed with Legos. He carries at least one around the house at all times.
Trey was eating a piece of bread and spit it out on the floor. I got all upset and was lecturing him. He looked at me and said " Mom, does that make you gross?"

perhaps the strangest post yet

Life is interesting with a sister(Kristine) with special needs. Sometimes we do things way out of the ordinary to make her happy. For example: Today, two of Kristine's dolls got married. We had a big dinner and ceremony followed by a dance. Maybe the oddest part was that my mom appeared to enjoy this even more than Kristine. The lovely groom and bride, Jake and Emily
The tables

The flower girls

The flower girls scattering rose petals

Mayor DeGraffenried performing the ceremony, with Phil and Kristine assisting the bride and groom. Jake and Emily also exchanged wedding vows

The rings

catching the bouquet
This event was definitely odd. However, the most fun and memorable parts of life are doing things out of the ordinary and what a bonus if it makes someone else happy.
