has it been two weeks yet?

these first two pictures are proof of why it is so cruel to operate on little kids.  they have no idea what is about to happen.  PJ had a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy on Wednesday morning. All went well with surgery but................

this is what it has been like after surgery.  He is such a miserable little guy.  I feel so bad for him.  He probably wonders why his mommy would allow this to happen.  It breaks my heart.
I knew recovery would be difficult since I just experienced it with Trey in January but heaven help me!  I think might lose it before his two week recovery time is over.  The poor kid wants me to hold him then put him down then put him in bed then hold him again.  He wants medicine but doesn't want swallow it.  He only wants to eat the things he can't have and therefore isn't eating anything at all.
In the end, it was well worth for Trey so I am crossing my fingers that we will feel the same about PJ in a couple of weeks.

mom and daughter road trip

the girls' trip was fun!  We shopped and ate lots of good food at good places plus multiple snacks and beverages in between meals.  Needless to say, we were well fed.  We watched DVD's from RedBox, read, did some sleeping,  I went running on a trail in Hurricane behind the vacation home.
We went to see Grease and Tuacahn.  I liked it.
of course, we had to stop at the temple in our matching shirts we buy every year at Tuacahn.
My mom loves to just drive.  I don't share her enthusiasm for such things.  this is her in front of Sand Hollow.
and of course I had to bring treasures home for the kids.  I tried to make them somewhat practical.  Trey's was road sign bedding.  PJ got pj's for his upcoming surgery in the morning.  Addie got her Justin Bieber backpack for back to school.

Our most funny thing of the trip was when we thought we were calling the Olive Garden to make reservations.  It ended up being an hard of hearing elderly man named Fern Olive.  (Listed right above the olive garden in the phone book.)  anyway we tried to make reservations for 5 and he being a kind old man said " Oh sure Ma almost has supper ready.  So are you going to just swing by?"  We then realized our mistake and thanked him for his generosity but told him we were trying to reach the Olive Garden.  Good Times!

the latest and greatest

for the 4th we went to the mt. Pleasant parade.  It was great! lots of candy but I think there needs to be some better enforced rules.  I swear there were many children nearly run over because they ran clear out into the road.

Trey had his 5 year pictures taken.  He is one handsome dude

This is my fave of the two boys
PJ was as usual the trouble maker
Addie and cousins who take dance at the same studio got their picture taken together.  These are some of my favorites.

July has been calmer than June.  However, with the eased up schedule I have found myself having little motivation to do anything. I did enjoy going to dinner with friends last week.  I am also excited to go to St. George this weekend with Mom and sisters.  Hopefully aftere a weekend of a little R and R, I will be ready to go full steam again.

Where did June go?

Addie and I went to camp Jeremiah Johnson this week.  She had a lot of fun Shooting guns, archery, crafting, and so on...

She made me nervous with her gun.  She kept swinging it around.

unfortunately, Addie takes after me in the craft department.  She couldn't catch on.  I tried to help her because she started crying.  However, I didn't catch on either.  Addie had the funniest looking bracelet there.  When the boy scout who was assisting us asked if Addie did it by herself. She replied " no my mom did it"  He was very alarmed by this and questioned " your mom did it?  well okay then.."  Needless to say,  I was quite embarrassed.   Making things will never be a talent of mine.
Trey and Addie finished swimming lessons.  Addie will be moving on to the next level. Trey Passed 2 of 5 skills.  I am proud of them both for the progress they made.

Later that day, we celebrated their hard work by going to the pool again but this time to play.
We had our first round of fireworks with our neighbors.  PJ was excited
Friday we went to see cars 2.  I wasn't too impressed. We should have waited for Red Box.

Today we are headed to an extended DeGraffenried reunion.
