just stuff

For the past month I have not been able to indulge in a little sleeping in on Saturday mornings. Darn Miss Payson(which I do the choreography for) requires me to be at the high school at 7:00 a.m. I have been pretty bitter about this. Every Saturday when the alarm goes off I spend a good amount of time cussing those individuals in charge(you know who you are, JUDY) followed by a good 20 minutes of staring at the wall. Then I panic because now I am going to be late. How did I do it when I was in HS and College? I had to be up earlier than that every day.

Today, after Miss Payson, Addie and I got busy in the kitchen making two different kinds of cookies for little Kynley's blessing day. Things were going pretty well until Addie dumped a bottle of water onto the kitchen floor. I told her to go get a rag and mop it up. I guess on the long way to the rag drawer she thought she had to grab a cookie, so with a cookie in one hand and a rag in the other she comes charging into the kitchen and slides on her on spilled water. Her feet came out from under her and she hit her head on the floor pretty darn hard. Am I sympathetic? NO!! because all I can see is that the cookie she had in her hand is now in a zillion pieces on the floor getting soggy from the water. And of course I just mopped the floor this morning. We made rolo cookies and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Both recipes I found from "taste buds are the best buds" see side bar for link. doesn't the caramel inside the cookie look yummy?
Our finished product.

I have been trying to get Peyton's face to heal from all of the scratches Trey has so kindly given him. (Denise H is photographing my kids in a few weeks.) However, you can see from this pic that my efforts are in vain. Trey always has a hand in his face and new marks are still being made daily. Poor Peyton!

I had to just add this picture because it makes me chuckle. DISCLAIMER: for those of you who may be concerned that I am feeding my one-year-old diet coke, no need to call DCFS, the can was empty before Peyton procured it.

The last drops out of the can are always the best...but I'm always amazed how much my kids get out of what I thought was an empty can.

mmm...those cookies look good! Thanks for making me famous on your blog. I especially love those PB Chocolate Chip.

Those cookies and diet coke sure look good! No worries about your baby and diet coke. My 3 year old has been drinking it for quite sometime. Try handling a Pepsi addicted kid at a family Christmas party where Pepsi and other caffeinated beverages are just as bad as beer!!! Not pretty! Not pretty at all!!!

I heard that your cookies were great! I unfortunatly wasn't able to try any of them because kynley gets so fussy when I eat chocolate. Thanks for bringing them, and thanks again for coming!

Those cookies look YUMMY!!!! And don't worry about the marks of brotherly love. I have some airbrush skills so we can remove the minor marks. ;)

With all your baking lately you should start your own recipe blog to compete with CC.
The more scars a boy has, the more respect he gets from his peers so let Trey attack. Peyton will be the most revered kid in nursery.
