sick kids and frustrated

How is anyone involved in anything when they have young kids? I am involved with a few things mainly Special Olympics and Kindergarten dance. Often when I have to be to one of these events I end up with a sick kid or no baby sitter etc..... Tomorrow is the state Special Olympics bowling and not only could I not find a babysitter but now I have two very sick and gross looking boys. I find myself getting more and more frustrated because I hate disappointing people BUT my kids are and always will be the most important part of my life so I guess as much as enjoy these other activities they will have to sometimes be on the back burner.
So moms out there can you relate? I am sure you can. Share your frustrations with me. Make me feel better about mine.

That really stinks! But how can you be sad while wearing a Sound of Music shirt?

I always think if you plan a vacation, sure enough, someone gets sick! You always have to have a plan b, something else you will do fun for yourself if you don't get to do what you're planning on.

Isabelle broke her arm last night so I was feeling sorry for her (and me!). It's hard taking care of kids and dealing with additional health issues. I hear you!

Ya I know the feeling...sorry we couldn't work out something for tomorrow- I luckily found a babysitter, but it wasn't easy. I guess you just have to say this too will pass....

My kids always get sick when I have to go visiting teaching. It's crazy. I guess that's what I get for leaving it until the end of the month!

I hear you... pre-baby, I was seriously not wanting to have kids just for that reason... I couldn't go flitting off at my leisure. Just like you, I wouldn't change a thing and I love Alexandra more than anything, but sometimes (most times) I hate how big of a production it is just to leave the house. And I only have one.... I'm back to how inconvenient (and not wanting to have to work of prego-weight) for the reason not to start thinking about baby #2. My m-i-l is my babysitter the two days I go to work, but I tell you, the days that she is unavailable are the worst on the planet! I used to wonder why mothers were so anal about kids washing their hands and staying away from others who are sick... I thought it to be a bit anal-retentive.... UNTIL I had a sick kid. 100 times rather it be me than her. So in summary of this book report of a comment:

1- I HATE FINDING BABYSITTERS. (especially because I'm not quite ready to leave Alex with a teenaged babysitter -- which is weird cuz I started sitting when I was 9, but to me, that's different so I'm stuck finding another mom that is not busy -- impossible.)

2 - Sick kids. Blech.

I feel your pain.

I am so right there with you! Kids are the best thing in the world but some days you just feel like you need to runaway! But not for long right?
