After talking to several people about blogging and hearing their thoughts on what is acceptable and what is not. I started asking myself the question: what is OK to blog about?
Well let me start by saying I love blogging because I am not a scrap booker. This is a way to post pics of my family without pretending that I enjoy or am good at scrap booking. I also think it is an excellent way to keep a journal. since starting my blog I have been so much better at keeping a record of my life. When you write in a journal you write about events, thoughts, feelings, accomplishments, disappointments, failures, friends, family, church, funny things etc..... So if my reason for blogging is to have a journal with pictures, then all of these things are acceptable to write about. If people have issues with others viewing these things they should go private. Then everyone wins!
I personally enjoy reading what others consider post worthy. I feel like I have a much better connection with people when I read their blogs and a better understanding to who they are as individuals.
So in conclusion, GO bloggers! Keep up the good work! Write about what makes you happy and don't worry that others will scrutinize your work.

AMEN!!!
well said...
I too have picked up on the journal keeping side of things.
that is the same reason that I blog, and I love to read about other peoples lifes and see there cute pictures. I think it is important to keep a journal, but I am horrible about doing it. For some reason I am much better at blogging..either way I am keeping a journal just like I am supposed to.
Amen too!
the same reasons I blog...
I used to be terrible at journaling until I started blogging.
and your kids are ADORABLE!!
Ditto the fact that there is no guilt about putting off and neglecting the scrapbooking and journaling. I was never good at those things. Things I wrote about my kids 6 months ago I've already forgotten until I re-read it. My blog is my "pensieve" if you're a Harry Potter fan! I have it printed into a hardbound book and order copies for my girls so that they'll have one, too. When I print up the book I'll add in more personal stuff that I've left out of the posts but other then that... it's a way to preserve our history. I love reading others blogs and have gained so many insights and great ideas just from what people share. I'm sure mine can be classified under a typical "Mormon Mommy Blog" where everything seems hunky dory and perfect but in reality it's like my FIL says, "Remember the positives and Repent of the negatives".

P.S. Such cute pictures of your kiddos! When I see pictures of your boys I can tell that they have a lot of personality!
hooray!
and amen sister.
it is my own venting space.
I blog to brag about my awesome life.
April fool's Megz!
I don't know why I blog or what my point is, but it's kind of like a nice playdate via the computer. Seeing your naughty kids in action, you seeing mine...good times.
I completely agree! I blog for the exact same reasons. Also if someone doesn't like it, then don't read it. I don't care.
And I have to say... I cannot wait to take pics of your gorgeous kiddos. Hopefully this weekends weather will turn out good!
BTW did you know that you can make your blog into a hard bound book? They are really cool and fairly inexpensive! Here is the site http://www.blurb.com/
Blogging is way more fun than cutting and pasting pictures. Yeah! and it has been such a great way to keep in touch with friends and family like you!
