Nancy Drew and the case of the missing beverage money

About a month ago, Landan heard a loud crack in the middle of the night. He came out to check things out. Someone had broken off the lock of our back garage door. About 2 weeks ago I discovered my beverage money that I keep stashed away in my car was missing. A day or two later I heard my car door slam. I thought it was Addie but later discovered she was in my room watching TV. I went outside to the car and my money spot had been robbed yet again. I figured it was a kid because both time the money was taken they didn't touch my debit card that was right there too. I told Addie she needed to make sure she didn't leave the garage door open and I tried to remember to lock the car doors. A few days later as I was mowing the back lawn I was robbed again. Today, I unloaded my kids and started making them lunch when I realized I didn't close the garage door or lock my car. I went outside and guess what?? my money was stolen again. This was the last straw for me. I went on my gut feeling and walked across the street to my neighbors and pulled the Foster dad outside to have a chat. Turns out my gut was right. He was wondering where these children were getting all of their money. He made them bring it back over to me and apologise. He didn't come with them and this was the apology. " We found this money blowing in the wind outside by your house" They proceeded to hand me several dollars in quarters and 1 dollar bills. I knew it wasn't all that they had taken but figured it was my loss. They then asked if they could sweep out my garage. Umm no thank you! About an hour later the f mom came over with them with two more baggies of money and made them do a real apology. I thought both of the foster parents handled the situation perfectly. Hopefully they can help these kids get things figured out. I was just glad to have the mystery solved and my beverage money returned. Trey fell asleep on the way home from My mom's house. 1.5 miles. I thought this pic was too cute.

the 24th

We had a great 24th! It started in the morning at the Healey Home for the Spanish Fork parade. We get to eat breakfast while we watch the parade. Trey had three plates of little hot doggies and wanted more.
Kelt and Addie looking thrilled.

Peyton hated the noise and made Grandma Patty cover his ears for a very long time.
Then it was off to the DeGraffenried festivities. We had a barbecue followed by a treasure hunt for the kids, duck races in the pond, lightening, and finally fireworks!!1

the kids after finding the treasure

A few of the grand kids in their hats, part of their surprises from the treasure hunt

The girls with their wigs, one of the treasures

Everyone had a blast with the fireworks!! Trey was partially terrified but loved them

weekend review

yesterday, Landan and I celebrated our 11th anniversary! We went to see Harry Potter and to the new Texas Roadhouse in Lehi. We didn't know it wasn't open yet and when we arrived at the door we were asked for our invitation. Come to find out they were having a special opening for those who were invited but were not really opening to the public until the 20th. Landan informed them it was our Anniversary as we were walking away. They told us to stay and the meal was on them. So hooray, nothing beats a free meal. It was really good too.
Friday the Jazz bear was at Stringham's. Addie was way excited. He gave away Jazz posters, his autograph, jazz calculator, balloons, and popcorn. My kids thought it was the best ever.

Due to recent events, Peyton is now out of a crib and in a big boy bed. He is very proud. No more babies in my house.

Addie has reached a new level of sassiness since turning 6. She informed me that I am the meanest mom in the neighborhood. I decided to wear that title proudly. If being the meanest mom means that I have rules for my children as well as other children that come to my house, don't let my kids wander aimlessly through the neighborhood, make my children do chores and limit their play, then I guess I am the meanest mom and I am proud of it.

To the Doctor for Trey and Peyt and oh my!!

After putting the kids in bed tonight, I went downstairs to watch tv with Landan. After awhile I came upstairs to watch the results of SYTYCD(Landan won't watch that) and I heard Trey from the bedroom screaming "PJ where are you?" PJ is supposed to be in his crib sleeping. So I opened the bedroom door to find a huge mess and seriously no Peyton. Trey was on the top bunk dancing, but where was Peyton. Then I heard a little noise coming from the hall bathroom. Peyton was in there playing in the Vaseline. I still have no idea how he got from his crib to the bathroom. To my knowledge he didn't know how to get out of his crib or open a door.
Every drawer was emptied as well as the toy box, diapers etc... I am so sick of this mess. Trey, Peyton and I played clean up clean up before I sent them back to bed.

This was taken two days after the incident. Trey's lip which already looks so much better, was split in half by his teeth after a head collision between Trey and Addie. We couldn't decide if we needed to go to the emergency room for stitches so Paul Francom(NP) was nice enough to come look at it. He told us although it could use stitches it would also heal on it's own in a few days. So it would be best to save him the trauma of the emergency room. It also saved our financial situation as well.

Trey had his three year check up and Peyton has his 18 month that is a few months overdue.

Trey is finally on the charts! He is in the 20th percentile for height and 30th percentile for weight. He is still having major issues with his skin so he is going to primary children's hospital to see a specialist. Hopefully we can get something figured out.

Peyton, on the other hand, is a big boy. His head size is above the 100 percentile. I am sure it is because his brain is so big because he is so smart. tee hee

making the most of our summer

Friday was a busy day! We went to Payson Lakes with Grandma Patty and Harmony and kids. They all had a great time.

In the evening we had a DeGraffenried swim party. A Deg swim party is not complete without several competitions. There was the no splash competition, the tricky trick competition, feet highest in the air, cannon ball and the big balls competition. Get your minds out of the gutter people. The big ball competition means they have to catch the big ball while jumping off the diving board and throw it and hit someone with it. Loads of fun!!

daddy will not be happy

My boys are getting in touch with their feminine side. I caught Peyt in my bra this morning and while I was grabbing the camera to snatch a picture, I saw Trey sporting a nice necklace.

and about 5 minutes later, Trey and Peyt were fighting over Addie's crown. Looks like the older boy won. Congratulations Trey!!

happy 4th of July

My boys woke up at 4:30 this morning. So I had the opportunity to watch the sun rise. It was quite pretty though I wouldn't choose to wake up this early to see it too often.

Pic up the canyon

I tried to get a picture of all of us together. I asked a nice old man at the Moroni parade to take one of us. When I got home I noticed it had been switched to film. So there is no pic of us all together.

at the Moroni parade. I love this parade! very short and a whole lot of candy!
Now on to the rest of the 4th. Addie and I will be going to see the movie up Then we will go to the DeGraffenried reunion. Hopefully some neighbors will be doing fireworks so we can watch.

a disgusting story and swimming with the kids

Peyton is a very busy boy! I have a hard time keeping up with all of his mischievous behaviors. A few days ago he reminded me again how gross toddlers can be. I caught him dipping bread in the toilet and then eating it. Only it gets worse, when I was screaming and getting him away, I noticed that the toilet had not been flushed. He had been dipping his bread into Addie's pee and eating it. I want to throw up just writing about it. I went swimming yesterday, with the three kids, my mom, Carlene and her kids. We had the pool to ourselves which was great! But after my experience in the pool yesterday, I am wondering why we take our kids swimming.

Peyton decided he was too big for this device and kept climbing out.

He preferred this much better. He has no fear he kept jumping in the water over and over again. even with these floaties on he kept going under. However, it did not phase him. While I was being distressed by Peyton I saw out of the corner of my eye that Hallie (my niece) was under the water in the deep. I quickly got to her and grabbed her and carried her to Carlene. Hallie was freaked out and wouldn't get back in the water.

Trey was the one highlight of the day. He loved the water and did great!! He has enough fear to not doing anything stupid.

Addie on the other hand, Decided since she passed beginner I swimming. She could take off her floaties and jump off the diving board. I did not know she had done this until I heard muffled, panicked screams and saw her trying to keep her head above the water in the deep. So once again, in to the deep I went to rescue Addie. She was so freaked out she was thrashing and pulling me under too. I finally got her to relax enough to make it to the shallow. She cried for 2 minutes, put her floaties back on and jumped off the diving board again.

my face says it all. I was plain worn out and frustrated by the time we left the pool.

I guess we take our kids to the pool because besides all of the anxiety it causes me. The kids enjoy it a great deal. Hopefully I can get them all swimming like fish, So I can relax a little.
