good times

I love the nice weather. It is the perfect running weather. I had the opportunity today to run on the Provo river trail while Addie was at dance at BYU. I wish I lived closer to the trail. The boys were so good while I ran. I rewarded them by letting them throw rocks in the water when I was all done. Good times for everyone.
Addie is getting really good at skating. I wish I could find my Rollerblades it looks fun

Addie's birthday phase 1: the school party

Addie has been the super kid all week at school, since it is her birthday week. She has been so excited. Being the super kid means that you get to be the line leader and bring a poster about yourself to school and this is totally awesome. Addie has been waiting all year to be the super kid! Today, I came to school and read Addie's favorite book to the class the Color of us
And I brought doughnuts for a birthday treat. Addie was so proud of me and so excited to see me at her school. I decided to really enjoy it because in a year or 2 she will probably be embarrassed of me.

Phase II of the birthday is tonight at the Grandparents bash!!

girls trip

Addie and I went to St George with Carlene and Hallie. We wanted to do a just girls trip before Carlene has her baby in a few weeks. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to have girl time with Addie.
We had a Hannah Montana theme. Carlene filled their Hannah Montana buckets with HM surprises like a microphone, journal, barbies and notebook.. They loved their treasures and it helped keep them etertained on the road.

Notice the patch on Addies eye. I accidentally gave her a paper cut right on her cornea. what a way to start the trip. She had to wear an eye patch most of the first day. This picture is also at the bear mill, where Addie and Hallie made a poodle and a lamb. Lots of fun but expensive. We won't be doing that again.

The Highlight was going to see the Hannah Montana movie. Both the girls loved it. Notice they are wearing Hannah Montana shirts. Addie is also wearing HM underwear and flip flops.

Playing with the outside chalk. They were posing by their Hannah Montana lyrics.

I love this place in St George. The girls thought it was awesome to be able to splash and play in the water.

cute girls

The water surprised Addie

After much hyper activity on the way home, they finally crashed. They slept for the last hour and a half. Yay for Carlene and me. Peace at last!!
I also was able to get all of the summer clothes for my kids at the outlets. Hooray for shopping!! It was quite fun without the boys. However, I was one happy mama when I came home and saw my boys. Peyton kept giving me hugs and pats on the back. Trey gave me a hug and then decided he was mad at me. He currently is not speaking to me. Oh the joys of being back in the real world.

What a weekend!!!

On Saturday, we had two Easter egg hunts. The first one was at my mom's house. We all had a lot of fun. In case you don't know my mom does huge Easter egg hunts. There are many cash prize eggs as well as many eggs that just say prize. These eggs you can turn in and choose a prize for them. I didn't find any cash eggs. So receive the BIGGEST LOSER prize. Which is pretty darn good. I got 30.00 for being the biggest loser. I also cashed in some prize eggs and got a great big bag of Swedish fish and very warm snuggly socks.
All of the grand kids find an egg with their name on it. They turn those in for a prize bag from Grandma. All of my kids got outfits and a couple toys. The other cool thing my mom does, is Every Easter she gives each of the grand kids photo albums of all of the pictures she took of them throughout the year. The second Easter Egg hunt at Grandma Patty's was a lot of fun too. This hunt was in the canyon. There was one egg worth one hundred dollars. There was a mad hunt for this egg. Unfortunately Landan and I did not find it. Grandma Patty also has prizes for the grand kids.
This is what Peyton thought of the Easter egg hunts

Trey liked looking at the eggs

Addie received an mp3 player from Grandma Patty. She loves it!! She also got walky-talkies.

Last night was prom and Kristine, my special sister, was prom queen!! She was very excited to get a crown. She didn't like getting her hair done or wearing makeup. But she had a great time.

Kristine all spiffied up.

our photo session

We had Denise Harkey be our photographer for some family pictures. My boys were a nightmare as usual. So I was amazed she got these pictures out of our session. Other than the crying and temper tantrums from the boys, it was a fun day.

called to serve

"Let me win, but if I cannot win let me be brave in the attempt"

Above: pictures of the unified bowling competition
I am looking for more coaches for special olympics. We have about 60 athletes on our roster. This is a volunteer job that consists of one hour a week throughout most of the year. At competition times, it may require a half to full day of service.

We are looking for coaches who are willing to help year round with all events: bowling, track and field, swimming and possibly kickball. We are also looking for people who specialize in one area. I thought that possibly young women could use this as a personal progress goal and volunteer their time. Most likely swimming in the summer would be the best option for the young women.

If you desire to help, or know someone you think is interested, please contact me in one of the following ways

cell: 801-404-9657
leave a comment on my blog or facebook.

if you are interested and feel you are not qualified just remind yourself that I am in charge so what qualifications could you possibly need. Except the desire to serve and love for those you are serving.

Thanks for your time,
Stephanie Huff
