What my mother didn't teach me about boys

So I was warned but didn't really listen.... BOYS are so different than GIRLS. I am constantly amazed at the things that amuse my boys. Every time a train goes passed our house which is about 20 times a day, they run to the window. The same for the garbage truck, police car, fire engine, tractor etc.... An airplane in the sky, no matter how high up there, it is a moment to get way excited about. Dirt is glorious!! Wrestling is not only fun it is hilarious.. and don't even get me started on balls( I am referring to the ones that aren't attached to them) But mostly what I have discovered about boys is they are a lot of fun. I don't know what I would do without them. I am happy they opened up a whole new world for me.

The other day I had to get a flat tire fixed. I was wondering what I Would do to occupy the boys while we waited. NO worries, the boys had a blast. Trey had to point out every truck and it's color. Each was just as exciting as the last. and then......

yahoo! A pothole filled with water! who needs Salem pond? Trey and Peyton spent the remaining time at the shop throwing rocks in to this tiny hole. My boys were so sad when the tire was fixed. I loaded screaming, heart broken boys in to the van and waited for them to notice that BOB the Builder was on the DVD player. Life was good again and I had a happy smile when I heard Trey shout from the back of the van "Can we fix it? Yes we can!"

I love my boys!!

I love those days where you can just enjoy the simplicity of little kids. Now the days they want to get in the puddle and swim in it...I need to relax a bit more and let 'em do it.

I realize that we are just swapping stages--I used to be able to sing the whole theme song to Bob the Builder; now we're playing tea set for FHE when Noelle's in charge...

I never had the boys in my life. Came from all girls, there was just estrogen dripping off the walls when I was growing up. My poor dad. And now I have a daughter. Cake. I know girls. I would like a boy, but then I start to freak out. I don't know anything about boys. What if they pee while you are changing diapers.... their aim is, ahem, different. I don't know how to cut little boys hair and I'm too cheap to get it done professionally. (I cut Tyson's but that's really not hard). I don't know how to play guns and robbers. Is that like barbie's but with no pink? Or cub scouts. Tyson wants a boy. Hope he's prepared to teach us both should that ever happen.

Thanks for your comment about a babysitter. I too am paranoid. I just keep seeing myself featured on the local news, "Neglectful mother leaves her child in the care of an adolescent".... How long can one BE in prison for child endangerment? And how much will the therapy be for Alex? Is it that much MORE than I can already expect for making her my child care guinea pig? I'm only even entertaining this idea because this girl is family and she is very familiar with Alexandra. But still.... the speed limit will be broken on the way home. That I can gaurantee. :)

Ha ha. Fun stories.
I'm just getting started with that. Cannon already knows how to pick up a toy car and say VROOM! Where did he learn that?
