weekend review

yesterday, Landan and I celebrated our 11th anniversary! We went to see Harry Potter and to the new Texas Roadhouse in Lehi. We didn't know it wasn't open yet and when we arrived at the door we were asked for our invitation. Come to find out they were having a special opening for those who were invited but were not really opening to the public until the 20th. Landan informed them it was our Anniversary as we were walking away. They told us to stay and the meal was on them. So hooray, nothing beats a free meal. It was really good too.
Friday the Jazz bear was at Stringham's. Addie was way excited. He gave away Jazz posters, his autograph, jazz calculator, balloons, and popcorn. My kids thought it was the best ever.

Due to recent events, Peyton is now out of a crib and in a big boy bed. He is very proud. No more babies in my house.

Addie has reached a new level of sassiness since turning 6. She informed me that I am the meanest mom in the neighborhood. I decided to wear that title proudly. If being the meanest mom means that I have rules for my children as well as other children that come to my house, don't let my kids wander aimlessly through the neighborhood, make my children do chores and limit their play, then I guess I am the meanest mom and I am proud of it.

Congrats! Sounds like a smart restaurant to open their doors to you.

I really wish there were more "mean" moms like you around. Friend play that lasts hours and hours drives me crazy!

How can you be the meanest mom if I already had that honor? I'm pretty sure nobody stripped me of that crown.
Peyby is way too little for a big boy bed. He's your baby after all.
Oh yeah. Happy A-sary. Still can't believe you weren't kidding around about getting married....

Congrats on the 11 years... and the free meal! I'm not sure which one I'm more proud of you for....??? Can't believe it's been that long since I started blog stalking you... I remember your 10 year. So happy 1 year anniversary to us. (Much more important..)

You may hold your Meanest Mom title for a short time, but I'm pretty sure that you will soon pass that torch to me. Just yesterday, Alex started throwing a fit, I responded with, "is that how we accomplish things?" She instantly stops and puts on her I'm the sweetest girl on the planet voice and asks, "Beas?" (Please) My b-i-l was astounded that I would hold my not even 2 year old accountable for her behavior. Stating, "What is she, 12?" (Not that she doesn't try the fit card first EVERYTIME.... and also no big surprise that his 9 year old throws more crocodile tear fits than my one year old.... but I digress.) So see? You shall soon be relinquishing your title to me... I will be honored. Now if only you could find who owns the meanest sister-in-law title... I'd like to go after that one too. BLAH.

:)

We should start a mean moms club--I'm in. Our kids will love us for it...when they're 40.

Happy anniversary! Nothin beats a free meal. well, o.k., a lot of things beat a free meal, but it's still great! I love the picture of Addie. Hilarious! I remember thinking my mom was the meanest on the block too. It's a compliment. It means you care and you're involved. You should make a t-shirt and sell them. Not even kidding. :)
