a disgusting story and swimming with the kids

Peyton is a very busy boy! I have a hard time keeping up with all of his mischievous behaviors. A few days ago he reminded me again how gross toddlers can be. I caught him dipping bread in the toilet and then eating it. Only it gets worse, when I was screaming and getting him away, I noticed that the toilet had not been flushed. He had been dipping his bread into Addie's pee and eating it. I want to throw up just writing about it. I went swimming yesterday, with the three kids, my mom, Carlene and her kids. We had the pool to ourselves which was great! But after my experience in the pool yesterday, I am wondering why we take our kids swimming.

Peyton decided he was too big for this device and kept climbing out.

He preferred this much better. He has no fear he kept jumping in the water over and over again. even with these floaties on he kept going under. However, it did not phase him. While I was being distressed by Peyton I saw out of the corner of my eye that Hallie (my niece) was under the water in the deep. I quickly got to her and grabbed her and carried her to Carlene. Hallie was freaked out and wouldn't get back in the water.

Trey was the one highlight of the day. He loved the water and did great!! He has enough fear to not doing anything stupid.

Addie on the other hand, Decided since she passed beginner I swimming. She could take off her floaties and jump off the diving board. I did not know she had done this until I heard muffled, panicked screams and saw her trying to keep her head above the water in the deep. So once again, in to the deep I went to rescue Addie. She was so freaked out she was thrashing and pulling me under too. I finally got her to relax enough to make it to the shallow. She cried for 2 minutes, put her floaties back on and jumped off the diving board again.

my face says it all. I was plain worn out and frustrated by the time we left the pool.

I guess we take our kids to the pool because besides all of the anxiety it causes me. The kids enjoy it a great deal. Hopefully I can get them all swimming like fish, So I can relax a little.

I want that perfect balance... fear and love of the water both. Although right now, I only have FEAR. Did I mention FEAR? Only then might I add a side of fear to FEAR and you have Alex. I need to go more often so she'll enjoy it and become used to it. We went to the splash pad today which is not even a pool but toys dumping water on the concrete. That traumatized her. I've got a lot of work to do before we go to Lake Powell in a bit.

Oh and the bread just needed more flavor. LOL. That is a funny story when it's not your kids, take my word for it.

I love the picture of Peyton stuffed in the middle of all the inflatables. No wonder he wanted out!
So gross about the bread. We fortunately have never had anyone eat out of the potty. That I know of....

That potty story is gross! Maybe he's used to dipping his bread in a little melted butter? Ew ew. I might have to induce vomiting on that one.
