5k hooray

Carlene and I ran a 5k in provo this morning. I was very concerned about running it, since earlier this week PJ had hit me in the leg with a baseball bat. Consequently my leg went numb and I was unable to walk on it that day. The next day I could walk fine but I couldn't run. It was still sore this morning so I took some Ibuprofen. How stupid can I be? I forgot that 800 mg of Ibuprofen makes me sick. So I was fighting off the urge to toss my cookies. Fortunately for me once the race had begun I was almost over the sick feeling and my leg held up okay.
So brag time: I took 11th place overall. 3rd overall woman and 1st place woman in the age group of 19-55. The girls who beat me were both in the 12-18 age group. Carlene also did an awesome job she finished with her best time ever and was 6th in the age group and 10th overall woman. Peyton decided to fill our CD player with sour cream and cheddar potato chips and gum. It doesn't work anymore.

Good thing they didn't drug test you before you ran. Who knew ibuprofen could enhance your performance?
great job!

Oh you over ambitious people. You make me feel lazy. Sorry about the CD player. :(

Okay, I've decided it's not just enough to run anymore, I need to pick up the pace. How is it that you didn't volunteer to run a marathon with me? What's your mile/pace? I am currently at a 10 minute, but that is about to change. I'd like to do about an 8.5 minute. This goal will be easier to reach once I stop packing Samantha's Restaurant around.

I need a new cd player too, and Peyton doesn't even live with me. It's an epidemic, so don't be too harsh on the little mischevious rascal. :)

It sounds like Peyton had a pretty busy week. Hey, you running with a numb leg and high on your happy pain meds still would have kicked my butt had it been a contest. :o) Great job! You're amazing!
