giving up the crown

Addie has been looking forward to this day as well as being sad about this day approaching. She has loved telling people she is little miss Santaquin. She has been very proud of that title. However, she also thought crowning the new royalty was about the coolest thing a person can do. She had to do her farewell walk. She did great considering there was no time before hand to practice on the stage.

Addie with Abbie the Jr. miss queen from last year. Here she is crowning the new second attendant. Notice she put the sash upside down. She got better the more people she crowned.

She was a wonderful queen, fulfilling her duty to the public, working on her platform...or was it just being in parades? Either way, I'm sure her loyal subjects will miss her. Better get working for next year's pageant!

That has to be the cutest thing on the planet. I'm sure she will make the most beautiful Jr. Miss in years ahead.

In lots of ways, I hope Alexandra or Samantha want to be in pageants. That was always something I wanted to do but didn't, ahem, have anywhere near the figure I felt was necessary. Maybe I could live through my daughters (like every American parent) because Alex is (so far) the tall, skinny, svelte kid that would be perfect wearing the crown her mother believes she would do so fantastically. It's destiny.

And PS... the only reason you are tired after my posts is not because I'm busy, because I know with 3 kids you have me trumped... it's just because it takes so danged long to read my ramblings. You probably started at 9:00 am and didn't finish until after dark. But for some reason, once I get going, it's hard to stop. Weakness/strength? I'm not sure. :)
