Good Friday

Since the beginning of the school year, Addie has begged me to check her out of school early. Not just for the sake of getting out of school early but so she can have her name called over the intercom from the office.

So today I checked her out early and we went shopping for coats. I was very pleased that Addie's favorite coat also happened to be the cheapest. We also went to Burger King for lunch. It was actually quite enjoyable. I loved hearing the squeals of delight over getting chicken nuggets and sprite. I thought Santa must have just visited.

Upon arriving home Addie and I made Halloween treats before rushing her off to her Nutcracker rehearsal. It was a really good day! Which was good because it was a really lousy week. That is a post for another time.

I want to laugh but I remember how exciting it was when your name was called over the intercom. At that age, it was as if you had just won the lottery and all your friends got to sit there and do spelling as you got whisked away into the the magical world of "anywhere but school".

That's awesome.

How fun! I'm glad it was such a good day. What a nice mom. :)

How funny---having your name called over the intercom is exactly what Ike would HATE to have happen.
It is exciting to be doing something naughty like sluffing though. Tell her not to get used to it!

What a great coat and deal. Esther's first choice is unfailingly the most expensive one. That's why I shop for coats when the season is over, (without her, of course) and I can get them for $9. Alas, the problem with this plan is my children are always a year behind in fashion. Oh well, at least they're warm.

I would have melted with embarrassment if my name were called over the intercom. How funny for Addie.
I love that you had a good day. My mom used to pull me out of school every so often to go hit a movie or go out for ice cream. I love that about her!
